LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — As September comes to an end we are going to see a mix of clouds and sun in the forecast for a little bit longer before gradually cooling down this week!

Cloudy skies continue for our final Sunday of the month as we continue to see the impacts of what was the tropical remnants of Helene. The low-pressure system is still sitting directly to our south over portions of Tennessee and Kentucky, the system will continue to move east allowing for fair and dry weather throughout today.

For our Sunday we woke up with temperatures already in the low 60s with scattered showers and patchy fog, showers come to an end right around sunrise. Most of Mid-Michigan stays cloudy for the day, especially towards Jackson and Hillsdale. Lansing could see a few peeks of sunshine. Depending on how much sun we see temperatures could get into the low to mid-70s, areas that hold onto the clouds could be in the upper 60s to low 70s. Which is still about five to ten degrees above normal for this time of year!

Heading into tonight we remain mostly cloudy with temperatures back into the mid to upper 50s. Kicking off the work week a high pressure system settles in giving us a dry but partly cloudy start to the week.

Monday will be similar to today with partly cloudy skies and peeks of sunshine possible, depending on how much sunshine peeks through the clouds temperatures will be in the low to mid-70s. The next rain chance looks to be Tuesday afternoon as a cold front moves through, showers again remain scattered and light, and temperatures for Tuesday get into the mid to upper 70s.

By midweek we see cooler air work its way into Mid-Michigan allowing for temperatures on Wednesday to be in the mid to upper 60s with plenty of sunshine! Cooler temperatures unfortunately don't stick around for long as we see the 70s return by the weekend!
