Broncos' Tyler Badie Collapses On Sideline

H.Wilson24 min ago

Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie collapsed on the sideline during the first quarter of his team's Week 4 win against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sunday (September 29).

Badie, 24, caught a third down pass from quarterback Bo Nix behind the line of scrimmage before Jets linebacker Quincy Williams landed a big hit to force a fumble and turnover. The running back eventually got up and went to the sideline, but collapsed shortly after, at which point he was placed on a stretcher and carted off.

The Broncos officially ruled Badie out of the rest of the game due to a back injury on the play, though slow-motion replays showed him awkwardly landing on his head and neck during the tackle.

Denver didn't provide additional details on the injury prior to the completion of Sunday's game. The Broncos acquired Badie off the Ravens' practice squad during his rookie season in 2022.

Badie entered Sunday's game coming off a 70-yard rushing performance in a 26-7 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 and 86 yards on 10 carries in two games. The former University of Missouri standout was selected by Baltimore in the sixth-round of the 2022 NFL Draft, having been named as a Second-team All-American and First-team All-SEC running back during his final collegiate season in 2021.
