Dr. Charles Fraser

Charles Hugh Fraser, MD, died September 22 near his family in Boulder. Dr. "Chuck" Fraser was a beloved Littleton pediatrician and pillar of the community. Born on a farm in East Liverpool, Ohio, he attended Hiram College where he met his wife, Virginia Hart Fraser. After attending Case Western Reserve Medical School, he served as a lieutenant in the Navy as ship's doctor. The Frasers loved the outdoors and moved to Colorado. Dr. Fraser was an avid fisherman, skier, hiker, jewelry-maker, and reader. He retired from the Littleton Clinic early to work as a physician at various Native American reservations, and could perform a physical exam in Navajo. Fully retired, he created a Littleton "Handyman" program that provided services to low-income and elder residents, and volunteered for several local groups. The Frasers moved to the Wind Crest retirement community, where Virginia passed away in 2011. He is also predeceased by his three younger siblings and his daughter Jan, who died in 2016. He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Taylor (Brad) of Boulder, Amy Mease (Dave) of Littleton, and Laura Fraser (Peter Eckart) of San Francisco; four grand-children, Chad Fraser Taylor (Kristin Crawford), Scott Taylor (Carly Marquis), Cole Mease, and Kelsey Watson (Steven); and two great-granddaughters, Virginia and Iris Taylor. Donations in Chuck's name can be made to Project Cure or Trout Unlimited.
