City of Grovetown: no water cutoffs for non-payments, no late fees this month

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – The City of Grovetown has announced that, due to hardships from storm recovery, residents will not face water cutoffs for non-payments, or late fees, this month.

"I don't want our citizens worrying about water bills right now," said Mayor Gary Jones . "Due to the crisis that we are experiencing, no water cutoffs for non-payments will be taking place this month. Additionally, no late fees will be added. This action does not eliminate one's responsibility to pay, rather provides an extension. If you are experiencing financial hardship, you may contact City Hall's Utility Billing Dept. later to request a payment plan. City Hall will be closed until further notice until power is restored."

The city also stated they are NOT taking anymore donations for the community cookout.
