City of Tybee Island temporarily waive permit fees

S.Martinez22 min ago

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) – On Sunday, the City of Tybee Island announced permit fees will be temporarily waived for repairs needed as a result of Hurricane Helene damage, through Nov. 1.

The permit fees are temporarily waived to reduce the financial burden of necessary repairs while still completing the permitting and inspection process – which helps protect residents, businesses, and property owners by ensuring all repairs are safely installed and follow applicable codes.

What the City of Tybee Island wants you to know:

If the work associated with the permit is related to hurricane damage, all applicable city permit fees will be automatically waived during the application process.

When applying for a permit:

Continue to apply for a permit as usual.

Indicate on the permit application that the work associated with the permit is due to hurricane damage by appropriately answering the required questions.

The fee waiver will be applied during the permitting process.

Please be advised, if upon inspection it is determined that the permit application submitted is unrelated to storm damage, the inspection will fail and the permit will be voided, resulting in delays. In such an event, a new permit application must be submitted, with all accompanied fees due upon receipt.
