Dak Prescott Fighting ‘Complacency’?

Sports Dak Prescott Fighting 'Complacency'?

The Dallas Cowboys did what they had to do in a 20-15 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, and Dak Prescott isn't about to walk a little taller because of it.

The game wasn't pretty from a Dallas perspective in any phase, but perhaps the most important thing was accomplished - a win. It ended the Cowboys' two-game losing streak, which saw them beaten by the New Orleans Saints and then the Baltimore Ravens.

But if you think Thursday night's win changes anything for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys, think again.

"At the end of the day, as I've said, even after those two losses the past two weeks, it's a process," Prescott said. "We're not going to get complacent. We're not going to get overexcited about what we've done. It's about building and it's about figuring out what we can do better in all phases, but it's a lot easier to do that with a win."

In truth, the win over the Giants should move the needle too far in a positive direction aside from the fact that Dallas beat them.

Prior to the game, New York gave up 131 rushing yards per game, and Dallas only managed 80, which tells you all you need to know about the Cowboys' run game.

The defense didn't do anything to allay fears that it will continue to struggle against the top teams and the offense; while Dak was efficient (22 for 27, 221 yards, two touchdowns), costly penalties and a lack of separation on a consistent basis made everything look hard.

Still, a win is a win, and it moves Dallas to 2-2, but it doesn't mean anything more than that.
