Eagles' Devin White Explains Reposting Lavonte David Post After Bucs Forced Fumble

Fred Kfoury III/Icon Sportswire via Devin White is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, but he surely has plenty of connections and close friends on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after playing with the NFC South team for the first five years of his career.

And one of those connections was an unexpected storyline during Sunday's game between his current team and his former team.

White, who was inactive, reposted a social-media post of Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David forcing a fumble against the Eagles. He then deleted it and explained he only meant to like it because Davis is "my twin 4Life."

Tampa Bay ended up winning 33-16 in a game where Philadelphia was significantly limited with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both sidelined.

As for White, he hasn't played in a game this season. He was listed as inactive for personal reasons and is yet to play in a game for the Eagles in 2024. Philadelphia signed him to a one-year deal this offseason.

There was a time when adding White would have been a significant move.

He was a 2021 Pro Bowler and posted more than 120 tackles in three straight seasons from 2020 to 2022. Yet he tallied 83 tackles last season and ended up leaving the Buccaneers to join a potential contender in Philadelphia.

But his friendship with David, who has been with the Buccaneers since 2012, was clearly on his mind when he was on social media during the game.

He explained it was a mistake, and now more eyes will be on him heading into the bye week. The Eagles play the Cleveland Browns in Week 6 following the bye, which could give White an opportunity to make his debut with his new team.
