Firefighter injured, multiple animals treated after house fire in Somerset County
One firefighter was transported to the hospital and multiple animals are being treated after a house fire in Somerset County Sunday afternoon.
According to emergency officials, crews are currently on scene at a residence on the 5300 block of Somerset Pike after calls came in just before 1 p.m. for reports of a house fire.
Officials said one firefighter was transported for unspecified injuries to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
Officials also said an emergency vet from Somerset is heading to the scene to care for multiple animals that were inside the residence at the time.
According to the Boswell Police Department, Somerset Pike is closed between Gilbert Hollow Road and Jerome Hill Road at this time.
