How Miss Terry outpicked Nick Saban on College Gameday before Alabama vs. Georgia

The Alabama football win over Georgia was a point of consensus for Nick Saban and his wife Terry during ESPN's College Gameday picks segment on Saturday. Both of them chose the Crimson Tide ahead of its thrilling 41-34 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

But the two had disagreements elsewhere on the picks slate. And when the dust settled on Saturday's schedule, the Saban with the most correct choices wasn't the legendary former head coach.

Nick Saban picked six of the nine games correctly. The woman best known as "Miss Terry" to adoring Alabama fans, got seven of them right.

The former coach, who joined ESPN as an analyst after retiring in January, joked during the show that it would behoove him to come out on top.

"After 52 years, I know if she wins this, it's going to cost me something," Nick Saban said.

The both started out hot, choosing Oklahoma to beat Auburn. The Tigers led most of the way, but Hugh Freeze's group faded late, and OU earned a 27-21 win at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Miss Terry dropped a game, picking North Carolina over Duke, while her husband correctly chose the Blue Devils. However, she got the win back by taking Notre Dame over Louisville, while Nick Saban fell with the Cardinals.

Both missed on Ole Miss, which fell to Kentucky, but correctly chose Penn State to beat Illinois and BYU over Baylor.

Their next point of contention was the Colorado-Central Florida game. Nick Saban went with the Knights, while Terry rolled with Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.

"Against our good friend Deion?" She said after her husband's choice. "Really? He texted you this week and said what a great job you were doing. I've got your back, Deion."

It turned out that was the right move. Colorado got the win in Orlando and Miss Terry finished one game ahead of Nick Saban in the standings.

She currently leads all College Gameday guest pickers this season with a 77.7% win percentage. That's just ahead of South Carolina women's basketball coach Dawn Staley, who picked nine of 12 games correctly, good for a 75% mark.
