John Luevano

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of John Luevano on September 21, 2024, at the age of 64. Known for his warmth, humor, and boundless patience, John touched the lives of many as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and cherished community member. He passed away following the recent loss of his father-in-law Bob and sister Rachael joining them in eternal peace.

John was the beloved husband of Theresa Luevano, with whom he shared over 20 years of love and partnership. Together, they shared in raising five wonderful children: Kyle, Miranda, Devin, and twins Quinn and Riley. John was a proud and doting grandfather to Olive and Indy, whose lives he filled with joy and laughter.

As the owner of Pairings, John built more than a restaurant; he created a welcoming space where people came together to share meals and memories. Known for spending time with his customers, he made everyone feel like family. His delicious Bolognese became a local favorite, much like the man himself–rich, comforting, and filled with heart. His dedication to Pairings and his craft made him a beloved figure in the community.

Outside of the restaurant, John had a deep love for golf. Whether on the course or simply relaxing with friends, his competitive spirit, combined with his easygoing nature, made every game a joyful experience. John's humor and patience extended to all areas of his life, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

John is survived by his loving wife Theresa, his children Kyle, Miranda, Devin, Quinn, and Riley, and his treasured grandchildren Olive and Indy. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings Dave, Esther, and Carlos, as well as countless friends, colleagues, and the loyal patrons of Pairings.

A funeral will be held on Sunday, October 6th, at 12:00PM at Graham-Hitch in Pleasanton. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Culinary Angels, honoring John's hard- fought fight with cancer and his belief in the healing power of foods. Culinary Angels provide nutritious meals to cancer patients and their families. John's legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and love. He will forever be remembered as a man who brought people together, whether over a meal or a round of golf, leaving behind a community better for having known him.
