Linda Loomis Fagerstrom

September 29th marks the 84th birthday of Linda Loomis Fagerstrom who died on February 19, 2024 in Walnut Creek, California. Born and raised in Portland Oregon, Linda's early years were notable for her brilliance as a scholar, her extraordinary musical talents, and her beauty and grace as a dancer. She graduated from Mills College in Oakland, CA in 1961 with a degree in psychology, and was a proud member of the alumni association for many years. On June 11, 1961 she married Richard Fagerstrom who remained the love of her life until his death in 2016. For nearly 20 years, Linda was the owner and operator of the maternity store Room for One More in Walnut Creek, where she provided women from all of the Bay Area with stylish clothing and priceless advice and encouragement as they entered motherhood. She was herself the mother of 2 children, Kristen and Derek, who she raised with boundless love and patience. After retiring, Linda and Dick spent many happy years traveling the world with close friends and family, visiting most of Europe, China, and Central and South America. In recent years she was an active member of the local Sveaborg Chapter, where she served as Membership Secretary, and the Scrappy Quilters Quilting group where her beautifully designed and meticulously crafted quilts drew admiration from both her peers and the organizations to which she donated all of her work. Linda's loving and generous spirit, as well as her enormous passion for books, travel, puzzles and games live on in her children and 3 grandchildren, Mikey, Arrow, and Audrey.
