Lubbock-area football top performers: Muleshoe's Nathan Martens totals 8 TDs

Here are the top performers from Week 5 in Lubbock-area high school football.

Nathan Martens, Muleshoe

Martens was 25 of 33 passing for 425 yards and seven TDs in a win over Clyde. He also ran for 7 yards and a TD on four carries.

Rolando Martinez, Abernathy

Martinez rushed 21 times for 204 yards and four TDs in a win over Friona. He also had two catches for 9 yards.

Welker Horn, Lubbock Christian

Horn completed 21 of 28 pass attempts for 315 yards, four TDs and one interception in a win over New Deal. He also ran 11 times for 85 yards and a TD.

Wyatt Holmstrom, Seminole

Holmstrom was 15 of 19 passing for 328 yards and five TDs in a win over Denver City. He also ran for 13 yards on two carries.

Keyondre Jefferson, Post

Jefferson caught five passes for 76 yards and three TDs, had an 80-yard kickoff return and an interception on defense in a win over Farwell.

Jordan Martinez, Tahoka

Martinez ran for 190 yards and three TDs on 19 carries in a win over San Angelo Grape Creek.

Ethan Rios, Snyder

Rios made six catches for 192 yards and three TDs in a loss to Big Spring. He also had 17 tackles (six solo), including two for a loss.

Mauricio Herrera, Muleshoe

Herrera posted nine catches for 179 yards and three TDs.

Mason Marmolejo, Ropes

Marmolejo carried 13 times for 119 yards and a TD in a win over Forsan. He also had two catches for 34 yards and a TD.

Logan McCormick, Seminole

McCormick caught six passes for 134 yards and three TDs.

Daenin Smith, Snyder

Smith ran for 184 yards and two TDs.

Ian Vergara, Post

Vergara ran for 182 yards and two TDs on 22 carries.

Yahir Quezada, Muleshoe

Quezada had 11 catches for 148 yards and two TDs.

Major McNeese, Littlefield

McNeese ran for 134 yards and two TDs on 13 carries in a win over Brownfield. He also caught a 10-yard pass.

Kade Franklin, Ropes

Franklin was 6 of 11 passing for 135 yards and three TDs. He also ran for a 1-yard TD on his only carry.

Ben Castillo, Littlefield

Castillo notched 11 tackles (four solo), including two for a loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Nate Casarez, Roosevelt

Casarez ran for 100 yards and two TDs on 13 carries in a win over Sundown. He also completed 3 of 4 passes for 73 yards, two TDs and an interception.

Darion Duvall, Abernathy

Duvall had seven catches for 156 yards and a TD. He also ran for 17 yards on two carries.

Ruben Arguello, Tahoka

Arguello had 11 catches for 114 yards and two TDs.

Rylen Brown, Shallowater

Brown ran 20 times for 127 yards and a TD in a win over Idalou.

Jacob Kirkland, Littlefield

Kirkland totaled nine tackles (four solo), including two for a loss, one sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Keaton Lee, Lubbock Christian

Lee caught six passes for 123 yards and a TD.

Reese Williams, Ropes

Williams had three catches for 93 yards and a TD. He also had four tackles, an interception and two fumble recoveries on defense.

Raymond Ramirez, Olton

Ramirez completed 11 of 15 passes for 203 yards and two TDs in a win over Vega.

Cooper Martin, Shallowater

Martin was 10 of 18 passing for 142 yards, adding 73 yards on 13 carries.

Chip Green, Littlefield

Green was 10 of 22 passing for 160 yards, one TD and two interceptions. He also ran for 76 yards and three TDs on 14 carries.

Kaden Riker, Ropes

Riker recorded 17 tackles (three solo), including four for a loss, one sack and a forced fumble.

Landyn Garcia, Post

Garcia was 13 of 22 passing for 198 yards and three TDs.
