Manatee County schools to reopen Monday, except Anna Maria Elementary

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The School District of Manatee County announced Sunday that all schools would reopen on Monday except for Anna Maria Elementary.
The district has completed its shelter operations and assessment of its schools and determined that classes can resume on Monday.

"Our thoughts are with everyone in our community who has been impacted by Hurricane Helene," the district wrote in a message to families.
Because of the damage on Anna Maria Island, students and staff at Anna Maria Elementary will be hosted at Stewart Elementary in northwest Bradenton in a "team teaching model" until conditions on the island improve, according to the district.
"We want to thank our district maintenance, custodial and food service teams as well as our school administrators for working diligently to make sure our schools are ready for Monday," the district wrote. "We also appreciate the state and local agencies and utilities who have made it possible for us to quickly resume instruction for our students."
