New England Treasure Hunt of $26K Prize May Be in Massachusetts

A treasure hunt is underway in New England featuring clues around Massachusetts that could land you a $26,000 prize.

Two game designers from New Hampshire have developed the ultimate adventure game called "Project Sky Drop."

Movies like National Treasure and The Goonies always spark a fascination with treasure hunts thanks to their thrilling expeditions, escaping traps, and puzzle-solving while searching for hidden treasure. Now you can live out that same fantasy.

Since the game's launch, the hidden prize has been narrowed down to somewhere in western Massachusetts, most of Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire.

While the treasure is somewhere in New England, the creators revealed that it's " close to Boston's Edge, and anyone there has a close drive to its location."

It's not too late to join in.

How "Project Sky Drop" Works

According to the website, each player will receive daily clues to locate a 24-karat gold statue worth $26,000 hidden in the woods. Your task is to successfully find where it is.

The hunt will last until October 10.

Players will receive an aerial view of the statue each day, along with clues that reveal hints about its location. The search area will shrink daily until it reaches a one-foot radius.

In other words, the more clues you get, the quicker you'll want to beat out other players before the radius becomes smaller and the treasure easier to find.

A $20 registration fee allows you to access the clues, but half of the entry fee will also be part of a "cash bounty fund" that will be an additional prize for the winner.

The treasure hunt is a prototype. Depending on its success, the creators hope to expand it globally.

It's worth a shot; you never know what could happen. Nevertheless, this treasure hunt will definitely get you out of the house, with your thinking cap on, in pursuit of finding the golden $25,000 prize.
