PEORIA ( 25News Now )—Over the weekend,130 artists from all over the country gathered at Peoria's Riverfront to display their work.

The 62nd Fine Art Fair showcased wood silks, acrylics, sculptures, jewelry, and other art forms.

Attendees had the opportunity to shop for unique pieces and participate in creating art with the interactive community mural.

The fair was expected to attract thousands of visitors over the weekend.

Shannon Cox, executive director of the Peoria Art Guild, said seeing how much the fair has grown is nice, as art is vital to the River City.

"Having arts in any community is so important. It's something that we can all relate to on different levels. It's good for our economic development. It's good for the aesthetics of our city. It's just something that all walks of life enjoy," said Cox.

Cox adds that supporting the arts is important because each piece adds a new sense of vibrancy to the world.
