Philly host shreds Eagles after brutal loss: ‘Unprepared ... Keystone Cops’

T.Davis27 min ago
The Eagles' 33-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was ugly. They missed tackles, turned over the ball (twice), and did not pick up blitzes — issues they also faced in their wild-card loss to the Buccaneers in January.

Their performance drew criticism from many, including the host of a local television show.

Michael Barkann, host of NBC Sports Philadelphia's "Eagles Post Game Live," went off on the team's performance as they headed into the locker room after the game. Barkann began his rant while quarterback Jalen Hurts was shown on screen.

"Perfect to start with, number one," Barkann said. "Number one laid the egg today with his teammates. Now sit in the stink. You're going to make us sit in this stink for two weeks while we wait, wonder, and worry about what this team is and what it's going to be. I don't want to hear about A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith — that's almost irrelevant because this team was unprepared to play as it should have been."

Barkann also criticized the usage of tight end Dallas Goedert , who finished with seven catches for 62 yards a week after his 10-catch, 170-yard performance against the New Orleans Saints. He further pointed to the lack of touches for running back Saquon Barkley , who finished with 10 carries for 84 yards and two catches for 32 yards.

Barkann also lashed out at Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni , stating the team looked unprepared to face the Buccaneers in all three phases of the game and it could be the start of a mediocre season if changes are not made.

"It's that guy's responsibility to lead this team, to oversee the offense, defense, and special teams," Barkann said. "How about the special teams? If you want to talk about Keystone Cops, just ask Cooper DeJean. The guy has bruises on him, and he didn't even get a chance to catch the ball half the time, for goodness' sake. They walk off at 2-2. Win, loss, win, loss. You know what you get when you have win, loss, win, loss? That's a .500 ball club — or maybe below .500 with 17 games."
