Pittsburgh Steelers swiss army knife offensive weapon goes down with injury

D.Martin2 hr ago
INDIANAPOLIS - Pittsburgh Steelers running back and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson left the team's game against the Indianapolis Colts with an ankle injury. After going into the blue medical tent , Patterson was taken off on a cart. With running back Jaylen Warren already out with a knee injury he suffered against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Steelers are down to just Najee Harris and Aaron Shampklin.

Harris has struggled to get going for most of the game. Shampklin has one rush but will take over Patterson's skills of being a third-down running back. Pittsburgh will turn to their four true wide receivers to be the replacement for Patterson there.

Patterson was shortly after that ruled out for the rest of the game. He finished with six carries for 43 yards for the Steelers. The Steelers signed Patterson to help boost special teams and become a versatile weapon on offense. He came over from Arthur Smith's days in Atlanta, where Patterson was a key piece of those Falcons offenses over the years.
