RACINE, WI – Before voters can head to the polls on Nov. 5, the city of Racine will hold a "mini election" to test the voting equipment.

A public test of the automatic tabulating equipment used in the General Election will take place at 9 a.m. on Oct. 30 in room 47 of the City Hall Annex, 800 Center St., Racine, according to a public notice by Racine City Clerk Tara McMenamin.

Racine County Clerk Wendy M. Christensen said the public test is a "sort of 'mini election.'" It is held at the municipal level and is meant to test the equipment to ensure it's good to go on Election Day.

Racine County Eye reached out to McMenamin and city officials to get more information regarding the public test but have not yet heard back. We will update with more details once we do.
