Robinson Family Farm opens Fall Festival after fixing damage caused by tornado in May

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - Owner Helen Robinson recalls the ups and downs she and her husband faced in past years while keeping their family farm running, as this year marks 5 years since her husband Brian was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder.

"He's strong he's healthy he still has permanent disabilities because of the nerve damage that we deal with on a daily basis but he's happy he's healthy and he's here with us living the dream," Robinson said.

In 2022, the Robinsons had a large grass fire in their parking lot that destroyed 70 vehicles, and last May a tornado that devastated most of Temple destroyed many of their barns and structures.

But despite what the Robinsons have faced, Helen says that they are grateful to be open just in time for fall.

"So many people don't know that we got hit by a tornado they don't have any idea, and regardless of if you did or you didn't you deserve the best experience and that's what we want to provide," Robinson said.

Local farm Halvorson's Hidden Harvest has been working with the Robinsons since 2019, and owner James Halvorson says the Robinson's dedication to their community is the reason people love coming back every year.

"It's such a happy place the children and the families who come out here love it, and so they've done a good job of separating the trials and tribulations that have happened behind the scenes," Halvorson noted.

Robinson says her family is happy to be open yet again to the community they have grown to cherish so much.

The Robinson's Fall Festival will continue every weekend from now until November 10th.
