Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – Showers will be with us for the morning, then we look dry into the start of the new work week. Showers returns on Wednesday as Helene moves through. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Showers will be with us in the evening. After that we begin to dry out. Skies will be mostly cloudy out there with lows falling to the upper fifties to near sixty.

SUNDAY:

We round out the weekend on Sunday with more showers primarily in the morning and early afternoon. Then we dry out again with peaks of sunshine. It will be cooler out there with highs in the upper sixties.

WORK WEEK:

We look dry to start off the new work. Skies will be mostly cloudy with some sunshine in the mix and highs in the lower seventies. Some showers will be possible on Tuesday primarily in the northern tier. Otherwise skies will be mostly cloudy with highs near seventy. Rain will again be with us on Wednesday, but it seems like the heaviest rain will be south of us as Helene was move into western Ohio and the low dies out. Heavy rain will also move north of our region as well closer to Syracuse and Toronto. We'll be cooler as a cold front moves through. Highs will be in the mid sixties. After this, we finally dry out to end the work week as Helene moves off into the ocean. Skies will be mostly sunny for Thursday through Saturday with highs in the upper sixties to lower seventies.
