Suspect in custody after fatal shooting on HHI

(WSAV) – The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) says one person is dead and another in custody after a fatal shooting that occurred at Fiddlers Cove on Hilton Head Island on Saturday.

According to the BCSO, when deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 25-year-old man who had been shot and was deceased.

The Beaufort County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 25-year-old Cory Devon McKie, Jr. of Bluffton.

BCSO says 25-year-old Charles Quincy Barron of Bluffton was arrested on the charges of Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Barron is in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing at this time.
