Teen shot after being confronted by girl's ex in Houston's Near Northside, police say

HOUSTON — A 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg early Sunday morning while driving with a girl in Houston's Near Northside, police say.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. near Moore Street and Erin Street.
Police said at some point, the girl's ex-boyfriend confronted the two of them and the two boys got into an argument. The ex-boyfriend pulled out a pistol and shot the victim in the leg once, according to HPD.
The victim's family showed up and brought him home before calling 911. He was taken to an area hospital and is expected to be OK.
The shooter took off, but police said they know who he is and they are trying to get in touch with him.
