Tioga County PA disaster recovery center moves to Westfield

WESTFIELD, Pa. ( WETM ) — The FEMA disaster recovery center established to help those impacted by August's floods in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, is moving to a new location.

According to a news release shared by Tioga County PA Emergency Services, the center at the Knoxville Community Center closed on Saturday, Sept. 28. Individuals and households impacted by the Aug. 9 and 10 flooding caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby can go to a new disaster recovery center at Valley Christian Church in Westfield starting on Monday, Sept. 30.

The Westfield disaster recovery center, located at 146 Maple St., will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The center will be closed on Sundays.

FEMA announces disaster assistance for Pennsylvania counties impacted by Tropical Storm Debby

Those who haven't applied for FEMA assistance can do so at the disaster recovery center. People who have already applied and received a letter from FEMA can visit the center to learn about their next steps. Staff at the center will also be able to help people with other aspects of the disaster recovery process.

The Westfield disaster recovery center is open to all flood victims from Tioga, Lycoming, Potter, and Union counties, and Tioga County residents are free to visit centers in other counties.
