Woman, man shot after argument breaks out while dropping off kids, Houston police say

HOUSTON — A woman and a man were shot Saturday night after an argument escalated into gunshots in northeast Houston, police said.

This happened around 10:30 p.m. on Valley Club Drive, which is in a neighborhood off Tidwell Drive.

According to the Houston Police Department, a man had showed up to drop children off at their mother's home when some kind of argument broke out with another man in the home. Police said the man in the home became agitated before pulling out a pistol and shooting at the other man.

The victim took off and was able to flag down officers nearly two miles away.

Police said a woman who was not involved in the initial incident was also shot. Both are expected to be OK.

The shooter was taken into custody, HPD said. None of the children were hurt in the incident.
