West Virginia’s Jefferson Memorial Hospital opens heart, vascular care center

RANSON, W.Va. ( DC News Now ) — Jefferson Medical Center in West Virginia's eastern panhandle opened a heart and vascular care institute, equipped with four examination rooms and an echo-cardiogram room.

"This is about patient access," explained Dr. Vinay Badhwar with the West Virginia Heart and Vascular Care Institute. "Access to the best quality care while keeping West Virginia patients in West Virginia while serving all in our region needing care."

"The demographics here certainly support a heart and vascular care facility," said Mark O'Hern, president and CEO of WVU Medical East. "We have population growth and a lot of new residents joining this community. We want to make sure we provide this care locally."
