The U-Mary cross country team prepared to try and qualify for the national meet. The team faced adversity all year, with their top runner getting mononucleosis and two suffering stress fractures. Despite the depleted lineup, the Marauders finished fourth in the Northern Sun Championship.
The Mandan volleyball team made the state championship. The Braves defeated Dickinson in five sets. The Midgets went up 2-0, defeating the Braves 25-21 in the first two sets before Mandan rallied to string together three straight victories for the reverse sweep. It was Mandan's first trip to the state championship.
The Mandan boys' basketball team looked to find success in the 1974-75 season. With a brand-new coach, Don Hanson, the Braves were hoping that their rebounding prowess and offensive depth would make them tough competitors. The Braves also have size on their side, having one of the tallest high school basketball players in the state, 6-foor-10 senior center Bruce Mork.
