Two Ocean County residents have been arrested in connection with the illegal possession and distribution of firearms and drugs, authorities said Friday.

George Garulle, 55, of Beachwood, and Dana Restaino, 39, of Whiting, were charged with multiple offenses related to the illegal possession and distribution of firearms and drugs, Stafford Township police said. These include possession of methamphetamine, large capacity magazines, firearms without serial numbers, unlawful possession of rifles and shotguns, possession of a defaced firearm, and distribution of undetectable firearms.

An investigation into the actions of Garulle and Restaino – prior to their arrest – led to the discovery of illegal handguns, drugs, and ammunition, according to a news release. Police also discovered a significant amount of money.

Both Garulle and Restaino were taken into custody following the execution of search warrants at two locations on Monday in Toms River and Beachwood, officials said.

Garulle faces additional charges as a prohibited person in possession of a weapon, as he is reportedly not legally allowed to possess firearms due to prior convictions.

Criminal complaint warrants were issued to both before they were transported to the Ocean County Jail, where they remain pending a scheduled detention hearing.
