6 Central Bucks Schools To Pioneer Full-Day Kindergarten In 2025-26
DOYLESTOWN, PA — Six Central Bucks elementary schools have been selected to pioneer full-day kindergarten in the district beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
In a letter to the community sent out this week, Superintendent Steven Yanni announced that six elementary schools will be pioneering full-day kindergarten in advance of a district wide roll out of the program in 2026-27.
Selected for the pioneer program are Cold Spring Elementary, Doyle Elementary, Groveland Elementary, Jamison Elementary, Kutz Elementary, and Mill Creek Elementary.
"We are excited to reach this milestone on our collective journey toward a full-day program," said Yanni in announcing the pioneer schools.
According to the superintendent, the schools were "carefully selected" based on three main criteria: each has adequate space to accommodate full-day kindergarten classrooms; the school's students, environment, size, and demographics represent a diverse cross-section of the district; and the schools represent all three attendance areas for the district's middle and high schools.
"We want to assure all our families with kindergarten children next year – as well as every Central Bucks School District family – that we are committed to providing excellent learning experiences in every district school regardless of the educational program," said the superintendent in his letter. "Our half-day kindergarten program is exceptional. We are focused on maintaining this quality while we pioneer a full-day program that will help chart the future of our district."
Kindergarten registration for families living in the attendance areas of the pioneer schools and have children who qualify for kindergarten next school year can register for the program beginning on Monday, Nov. 11. All families with children entering kindergarten in 2025-26 will also be able to register beginning on Nov. 11.
According to Yanni, beginning with the 2025-26 school year the pioneer schools will no longer offer half-day programs and families living in the pioneer school attendance areas won't be allowed to request enrollment in a half-day program at another elementary school.
Similarly, he said families living in attendance areas that offer the half-day program in 2025-26 will not be able to request enrollment in a pioneer full-day program.
