25+ Halloween events in Lancaster County, from kid-friendly activities to extra spooky frights

If you're looking for a few extra ways to celebrate Halloween this year, this list is for you.

There's plenty to check out in Lancaster County this Halloween season, from not-too-scary Halloween parades to an extreme night of terror at Field of Screams, and many options in between.

Don't forget, for those with little ones who love trick-or-treating, most municipalities in the county will celebrate on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m., rain or shine.

Here are more than 25 ways to celebrate Halloween this season in Lancaster County.

Fun for all ages

Oct. 26: Kitchen Kettle Village, at 3529 Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse, will host Yummie's Halloween Boo Bash, with check-in being from 9:30-10 a.m. The party will feature a children's costume contest, a lunch voucher, a hot chocolate bar, a scavenger hunt and more. Children can take photos with Yummie, the village's gingerbread man mascot. Tickets cost $21.95 for adults, $14.95 for children ages 3-10 and free for children ages 0-2. More info .

Oct. 26: The National Watch & Clock Museum, at 514 Poplar St. in Columbia, will host a Pumpkins & Pendulums party from noon to 3 p.m. The party will feature trick-or-treating, a dance party, games, crafts, food trucks and more. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes. Admission costs $30 for a family package (two adults, two or more kids), $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6-17 and free for children ages 0-5. More info.

Oct. 26: The Manheim Township Recreation Department will host its at Overlook Activities Center, at 301 Golf Drive in Lancaster, from 1-4 p.m. The carnival will feature plenty of games, a costume parade, food trucks and more. Tickets for the carnival cost $5 for 10 tickets. There will also be a trunk-or-treat event. Admission is free. More info .

Oct. 26: Space-country band Nielsen Family Band will host its 7th annual Halloween Party at West Art, at 816 Buchanan Ave. in Lancaster, from 7-11 p.m. Nielsen Family Band will perform Pavement's "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain." Lancaster band Health Club will open the show. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes. Tickets cost $12 in advance, or $15 at the door. Student tickets cost $8. More info.

Oct. 27: Millersville University's Tell School of Music will host its annual Commercial Bands Halloween Bash at Phantom Power, at 121 W. Frederick St. in Millersville, from 4-9 p.m. Eight bands will perform, and attendees are encouraged to dress up in costume. Admission costs $8, or $4 for those with a student ID. More info .

Oct. 31-Nov. 3, at 2050 Auction Road in Manheim, will offer half-price admission for all-day play in celebration of Halloween. Admission costs $29.99 and includes two sessions of laser tag, as well as unlimited arcade games. More info .

Nov. 2: Phantom Power will host its annual Count Barley's Halloween Masquerade party from 7-11:59 p.m. The party will feature performances from Ben Yohe, Witch Weather and Big Fat Meanies. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes for a costume contest. Tickets cost $15. More info .

Fun for adults

Oct. 24: Spring House Brewing Company, at 209 Hazel St. in Lancaster, will host a Halloween Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to benefit the Woodward Hill Cemetery, where former president James Buchanan is buried.

Oct. 24: Phantom Power will host a Halloween drag show called "Inferno." Admission costs $10 in advance, or $15 the day of. Attendees must be 18+. More info .

Oct. 26: The Clipper Magazine Stadium, at 650 N. Prince St. in Lancaster, will host a Boos & Brews Beer Fest event from 6-9 p.m. There will be adult trick or treating, a costume contest, spooky music, movies and more. Admission costs $25 for a beer fest ticket, and $10 for a designated driver ticket. Attendees must be 21+. More info .

Oct. 27: Stoll & Wolfe Distillery, at 35 N. Cedar St. in Lititz, will host a book signing and talk for Cory Van Brookhoven's "Mysterious Lititz: Ghosts, True Crime, UFOs and More" from 2-4 p.m. Van Brookhoven will talk to attendees and do a meet and greet. Stoll & Wolfe Distillery will have a spooky cocktail. Tickets cost $35 and include a signed copy of the book. Attendees must be 21+. More info .

Oct. 31: Four Lancaster city restaurants — Decades, The Belvedere Inn, The Coffin Bar and 401 Prime — will participate in a Halloween bar crawl starting at 6 p.m. Attendees should start at Decades to get a punch card, then go to The Belvedere Inn, then the Coffin Bar, then 401 Prime, to get their cards punched. Each bar will have a special themed beverage. Finalized punch cards will be submitted for a chance to win a gift card prize back. Attendees must be 21+. More info .

Nov. 1: Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse, at 112 N. Water St. in Lancaster, will host an event called Halloween Hangover starting at 7 p.m. The night will feature a tribute to "Rocky Horror," with drag performances, singing and dancing. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and take part in the costume contest. There will also be classic Halloween TV shows playing starting at 9 p.m. Admission costs $20, or $15 with a costume. Nov. 1: The CASA Soccer League of Lancaster — not to be confused with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Lancaster — will hold a Halloween Party at Tellus360 from 7-9 p.m. There will be an open bar, as well as appetizers, dancing, games and more. The first 100 tickets sold cost $20 for CASA players and coaches, and $25 for family, friends and non-CASA members. Otherwise, tickets cost $38. Attendees must be 21+. More info.

Oct. 23: The Akron Halloween Parade will kick off at the Broad Street Park, 801 Broad St., at 7 p.m. The parade then will continue on Broad Street to South 9th St., to Main Street, ending at the Akron Volunteer Fire Company station, at 1229 Main St. There will be food, prizes and more. More info .

Oct. 23: The Jack Frost Children's Costume Parade will start at 7 p.m. at the Ephrata VFW Post 3376, at 141 S. State St. The Ephrata High School Marching Unit will lead the parade. Those participating in the parade in costume will get a small prize, and those with the best costumes will receive cash prizes. There will also be food on site. In the event of rain, this parade will move to Oct. 24. More info .

Oct. 24: The Columbia Mardi Gras Parade will start at the Columbia Borough Fire Department, at 726 Manor St., at 7 p.m. The parade will continue from Manor Street to 4th Street, to Union Street, to Second Street, to Locust Street, to Sixth Street, ending at Cherry Street. The theme this year is "Food Fiesta." More info .

Oct. 24: The Strasburg Halloween Parade will start at the Strasburg Jaycee Park, at 218B Miller St., at 7 p.m., and will continue on Miller Street until it ends at East Main Street and Shenk Avenue. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled. More info .

Oct. 24: The West Earl Lions Club Halloween Parade will kick off at 7 p.m. at the West Earl Community Park, at 11 Louise Ave. in Brownstown. The parade route will continue to South State Street, then Cedar Avenue to North Church Street, to South Church Street, to School Lane, ending at the West Earl Fire Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be canceled.

Oct. 26: The Marietta Halloween Costume Parade kicks off at the Marietta Square, at 1 S. Gay St., at 5:15 p.m. It'll continue down West Market Street and end at the Union Meeting House, at 82 N. Waterford Road. There will be a haunted house set up, which will be kid-friendly until 7 p.m. Afterwards, the scariness will intensify. More info .

Oct. 26: The Lancaster Halloween Parade will start at the Clipper Magazine Stadium at 7 p.m. It will continue down Prince Street until Chestnut Street, then Chestnut Street to Queen Street, then Queen Street to Clay Street, which is where the parade ends. More info .

Oct. 27: The Not Too Scary HalloweE-town Parade returns from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on College Avenue in downtown Elizabethtown. There will be costume contests, pets, floats and more. More info .

Oct. 28: The Lititz Lions Halloween Parade will kick off at 7 p.m. starting at Locust and Main streets and continuing on Main Street until it disbands in the Warwick High School parking lot. There will be food stands at Main and Cedar streets. More info .

Ongoing celebrations

— Amusement park Dutch Wonderland, at 2249 Lincoln Highway East in Lancaster, will continue its Happy Hauntings event Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 27. The event features meet and greets with characters like Daniel Tiger and his neighborhood friends, an interactive theater, a hay maze, trick or treating and more. Tickets range from $34.99-$49.99. — Haunted attraction Field of Screams, at 191 College Ave. in Mountville, will be open Thursdays through Sundays through Nov. 3. It will also be open Nov. 8-9, and will be open for its extreme blackout event Nov. 15. Ticket prices for all four attractions range from $40-$55, depending on day. Additional VIP upgrades cost an extra $15-$30 per ticket. The extreme blackout event, which features a more intense, dark experience for thrill seekers, costs $60 for admission, and an optional $30 for a VIP upgrade. More info.

— Haunted attraction Jason's Woods, at 179 Stehman Road in Lancaster, will be open Fridays through Sundays through Oct. 27. It will also be open Nov. 1-2. Tickets for three attractions range from $25-$50 and tickets for five attractions range from $40-$65. More info .
