5 Hinsdale D86 Seats Up In April Election
HINSDALE, IL – With the latest election just over, another one is on the way.
The state's filing period for the April 1 election starts Tuesday and lasts through the following Monday.
The election is for local offices at schools, municipalities, townships, park districts and other public bodies.
The board for Hinsdale High School District 86 will have five of its seven seats up in the election.
The only publicly announced candidate so far is Jeff Waters, who was elected to the board in 2021.
He told Patch on Thursday that he is seeking the only seat with a two-year term. That is the seat that Kay Gallo held before resigning last October . Her term was to expire in April 2027. Hinsdale resident Heather Kartsounes was appointed to fill the seat through next April.
Besides Kartsounes and Waters, the others with seats expiring in April are Abed Rahman, Peggy James and Terri Walker.
The terms for board President Catherine Greenspon and Asma Akhras are expiring in April 2027.
