5 incumbents win reelection in state House races that cover the Rochester area
ROCHESTER — For the five state House races that cover the Rochester area, it was the incumbents who prevailed and often by large margins.
GOP Rep. Steven Jacob prevailed over DFL challenger Michael Hutchinson 67% to 33% in the race for House District 20B, with 98% of precincts reporting.
GOP Rep. Duane Quam won an eighth straight term to represent House District 24A, defeating DFL opponent Heather Holmes 65% to 35%, with 98% of precincts counted.
DFL Rep. Tina Liebling secured her 11th straight term to represent House District 24B, defeating GOP challenger Dan Sepeda 58% to 42%, with 97% of precincts counted.
DFL Rep. Kim Hicks survived a challenge by GOP challenger Ken Navitsky, winning 56% to 44% of the vote, with 96% of the precincts tallied. She will represent House District 25A for a second term.
DFL Rep. Andy Smith won a second term to represent House District 25B by defeating GOP challenger Wes Lund 64% to 36%, with 96% of precincts counted.
