HOLLAND, MI - The iconic Windmill Island Gardens will once again be aglow for the holidays.

Magic at the Mill is returning after its early success brought nearly 10,000 visitors to Holland's 136-year-old Dutch treasure.

Visitors can tour the illuminated gardens in one-hour timeslots. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, not including fees. Tickets must be purchased in advance at holland.org .

The holiday festivities at Windmill Island Gardens became fast favorites for locals and travelers alike.

Magic at the Mill will include a musical light show as the 1,000 LED tulips are synced up to create a holiday spectacle.

The park and shops will be open, snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, and there will even be an opportunity for children to greet Sinterklaas, the Dutch Saint Nick.

The De Zwaan windmill came to Holland by way of Vinkel, Netherlands in 1964. It was the last windmill to leave the Netherlands before the country implemented the Heritage Act to keep historical, cultural pieces on its homeland.

It's the crown jewel of the 36-acre park and the springtime Tulip Time Festival.

Holland continues to make strides as a four-season destination. The historic windmill nearly broke another visitor record this season as it "welkomed" more than 130,000 guests from April to October.

Its the fourth time in the windmill's 60-year tenure that visitor traffic has been so high. To meet demand, the park remained open on weekends into mid-October.
