(WBTW) — Four "males" were killed Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Darlington County that also injured one other person, according to Coroner Todd Hardee.

Details are limited, Hardee said it happened shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 340 and Oates Highway. There were others injured in the crash, but Hardee said they are expected to be OK.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the four people who died were all in a 2013 BMW 750 that was headed north on Oates Highway.

The crash also involved a 2007 Ford Edge SUV that was going south on Oates Highway and a 2007 Honda Accord that was traveling north. Troopers have not said what led to the crash.

The person driving the Ford was injured and taken to the hospital, the highway patrol said. The driver of the Honda was not hurt.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol's Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation team, or MAIT, is involved in the investigation.

News13 has reached out to the highway patrol for more information but has not heard back. We have a team headed to the area where the crash happened.

This is a developing story. Count on us for updates.
