PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Three food carts in a northeast Portland pod were broken into early Tuesday morning.

Rose City Food Park property manager Chris Mcluaghin said the break-ins occurred around 3 a.m. and involved Momo House, Ocean Sushi, and J Vein Caffe.

A window at J Vein Caffe was left shattered.

Owners said tools, spare parts, bar towels, and rags were stolen from their cart.

"It's horrible. We're getting to the tail end of the sunny dry season. Going into winter, traffic goes down. For something like this to happen is just bad timing," Mclaughlin said.

Mclaughlin said break-ins of this kind are not unusual for Portland food carts, however, this was the first Rose City Food Park had in over a year.

He thinks more help from law enforcement is needed.

"We wish there was a little bit more policing. This is not unique to our pod. Small businesses get targeted especially when there's prone windows and we don't really think there's been a lot of assistance there," Mclaughlin said.
