2025 NFL Draft Watch: Top college football players from Week 11

Plus: more takeaways from the previous week.

  • Some NFL Draft takeaways for this last week of college football ...

Making an early call that Abdul Carter will be my guy in this draft. I have written about what Abdul Carter feels like every week now, and that's because he is always doing something worth writing about. The Penn State defender is an absolute freak athlete and he is seemingly getting better with each game. Carter is coming off a two sack performance against Washington, putting him at eight for the year. The last few years, I have felt a bit lucky with the Eagles first round picks. Since the 2021 draft, I have (seemingly) manifested them drafting DeVonta Smith, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter, and Quinyon Mitchell. I am officially channeling whatever dark magic I have to get Abdul Carter back home in Philadelphia come this April. Jalen Milroe kicks ass. The only thing more red than Jalen Milroe's helmet was Brian Kelly's face after Milroe ran for his fourth touchdown of the game. Jalen Milroe is a dangerous, dangerous athlete and he was outstanding against LSU, who had no answer for him as a runner. Milroe is not the most polished prospect, but he's my choice for best quarterback in the 2025 class. Who are Indiana's NFL prospects? The Hoosiers are 10-0 and bound for a playoff berth as they turn in dominating wins every week it seems. It really is a different era for this team. The crazy part is they are not loaded with NFL eligible talent. Mikail Kamara is arguably their best prospect. The former JMU star is undersized, but fast and physical rushing the passer. I am not sure he'd even be considered a Top 50 pick at this juncture. Terry Jones is a tough, versatile defensive back but, again, doesn't stand out as a premier prospect. A lot of Indiana's best players like D'Angelo Ponds, Amare Ferrell, and Omar Cooper are underclassmen. The present is exciting for the Hoosiers, but the future is also very bright! The Donovan Edwards thing is a bummer. Two years ago, Donovan Edwards looked like the next great college running back. His rare blend of size and speed made him a deadly complement to Blake Corum in the Michigan backfield. After an injury-hampered 2023 season, Edwards still looks very human this year. He has yet to break the 100 yard mark in a game this year and has gone a month without scoring a touchdown. Now, some blame rests on the shoulders of Michigan's entire offense just being plain bad. Defenses are keying in on the run. However, Edwards looks hesitant attacking the line of scrimmage. There are glimpses of his talent and upside, but they have been few and far between. Edwards will still make an NFL roster. He might even be drafted as early as day two because the potential is so high. But there is a lot of work he has to do to unlock his talents as a ball carrier. Hopefully he can do it. Players of the WeekRaheim Sanders, Running Back, South Carolina: In the battle of giant-killing SEC teams, it was the Gamecocks that thoroughly handled the Vanderbilt Commodores. South Carolina's victory is owed to Raheim Sanders, who ran for 126 yards and two scores while chipping in another touchdown through the air. Sanders is a really unique back who is built like a power back at 6'0" and 230 pounds, but offers three down potential as a pass catcher and protector. As running backs are enjoying their moment in the NFL right now, I expect teams to be interested in what Raheim has to answer.

Jared Ivey, Edge Defender, Ole Miss: The Rebels had their biggest win of the Lane Kiffin era on Saturday, beating #3 Georgia in a dominant 28-10 showing. Ole Miss defense suffocated the Bulldogs, holding them to under 250 yards of offense. Jared Ivey was arguably the most dominant defender, sacking Carson Beck twice, knocking away two passes at the line of scrimmage, and forcing a fumble. He was a force. Ivey is up to eight sacks in his senior season, and figures to generate some serious NFL interest with his 6'6", 285 pound frame.
