2024 NFL Season, Week 7: Seahawks face tough road game vs. Falcons

How times have changed for both the Seattle Seahawks (3-3) and Atlanta Falcons (4-2).

At the end of Week 3, the Seahawks were 3-0 for the first time since 2020 , two games ahead of everyone else in the NFC West, while the Falcons were 1-2 and not looking like the playoff contenders they were hyped to be after acquiring Kirk Cousins. Now the Seahawks sit at 3-3 and second in the NFC West, whereas Atlanta is riding a three-game winning streak consisting exclusively of NFC South opposition.

The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is the site for the latest meeting between the Seahawks and Falcons. Seattle's defense is reeling with injuries at a time when Atlanta's offense is humming. Atlanta's defense has had its own struggles, which could provide an opportunity for the Seahawks' inconsistent offense to get back on track.

If the Falcons win, they'll stay atop the NFC South and increase their chances of returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2017. A loss for the Seahawks and they'll drop to below .500 and potentially to third in the NFC West pending what the Arizona Cardinals do against the Los Angeles Chargers. If the Falcons lose, they might lose their top spot in the NFC South if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.
