2024 NFL Season, Week 11: Seahawks return from bye week to rematch 49ers

It's now or never for the Seattle Seahawks (4-5). After five losses in six games, the Seahawks' playoff hopes sit on a knife's edge. Following their bye week, Mike Macdonald's group has a brutal return ahead against the San Francisco 49ers (5-4), who've beaten the Seahawks six consecutive times.

Seattle is in a slump while the 49ers finally won back-to-back games on either side of its own bye week. This looks like another mismatch on paper given the Seahawks' continued offensive line struggles and the inability to stop the 49ers offense regardless of who's out there on defense. And yet, nothing lasts forever, and perhaps this is the weekend that Geno Smith gets one over San Francisco, and the defense finally contains Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle.

The Seahawks will have DK Metcalf back for the first time since his Week 7 MCL sprain , while signs point to right tackle Abe Lucas making his first appearance this seaso n.

Last meeting The Seahawks lost 36-24 at home back in Week 6 , sending them to 3-3 on the year. It should be noted that while Christian McCaffrey didn't play in that game, Brandon Aiyuk did and he's now out for the season. Seattle didn't have Byron Murphy II or Riq Woolen, and also had Rayshawn Jenkins, Tyrel Dodson, and Jerome Baker all playing. There will be a lot of changes to both teams from the previous game.

What's at stake for the Seahawks? If the Seahawks lose they'll stay in last place in the NFC West and their playoff hopes may be cooked for good. A win would see them drop the 49ers to last place by virtue of a superior division record (1-2 vs. 1-3), but the Seahawks will be no better than third in the division following Week 11.

The Seahawks are a predictable 6.5-point underdog on FanDuel Sportsbook , with an over/under of 48.5 points.
