1 person hospitalized, 1 arrested after shooting at Brooklyn Park home

An investigation is underway following a shooting at a home in Brooklyn Park Saturday evening.

It happened at a private residence on the 8400 block of Adair Ave N., where police responded to reports of a gunshot around 6:34 p.m. Officers arrived to find a victim with "serious gunshot injuries," providing aid before an ambulance took them to an area hospital for treatment, a news release says.

Officers identified a suspect at the scene, arresting them and recovering a firearm.

"During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the suspect and victim knew each other," the release says.

Police have not yet specified what may have led up to the shooting.

Hennepin County sheriff's deputies assisted Brooklyn Park police officers in the case.
