3 Shot At Eden's Bar On Gardner Street: Joliet Police

It is believed the gunfire originated from outside the bar and the rounds entered the building, Joliet police said.

JOLIET — As most residents of Joliet were asleep in their beds, the overnight shift officers for the Joliet Police Department learned of a shooting that left three of the patrons of Eden's Bar and Grill at 926 Gardner Street with gunshot wounds. The shooter was positioned outside the bar, Joliet police said.

According to Dwayne English, at 1:25 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to Eden's Bar and Grill for a report of people inside the bar who were shot.

The officers located three shooting victims inside the bar, and immediately began rendering medical assistance until the arrival of Joliet Fire Department paramedics.

A 29-year-old man suffered three gunshot wounds to the lower body, a 31-year-old woman had a gunshot wound to the right ankle, and a 25-year-old woman had a gunshot wound to the right leg, English said.

All the gunshot wounds are believed to be non-life threatening. The 25-year-old woman and the 29-year-old man were rushed to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department. The 31-year-old woman was taken. to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department.

"It is believed that the gunfire originated from outside of the bar and the rounds had entered the building," English said. "During a canvass of the area, officers recovered spent shell casings from outside the establishment.

According to English, the shooting is an active investigation in its early stages.
