One of the top junior prospects in the state of Tennessee has cut his list of top schools down to eight.

Knoxville Catholic four-star wide receiver Tyreek King Rivals' Sam Spiegelman on Thursday morning that he's now down to eight schools, with Ole Miss Texas A&M making the cut.

King is the No. 179 overall prospect and No. 30 WR in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking , a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He's also the No. 5 player in Tennessee.

At the beginning of September, King announced he'd be taking a string of visits this fall, with scheduled trips to the likes of Texas A&M, Tennessee and Alabama having already come and gone. He was scheduled to be back in Knoxville last week and is planning to return to Tennessee again this weekend as the Vols host the Crimson Tide.

Tennessee trending early for Tyreek King

Josh Heupel's program is already trending for the pass-catcher in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine , as On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logged a pick in favor of the in-state program landing King on Wednesday.

The Vols' 2026 class already features a pair of big commitments, one of which is Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon , the nation's No. 4 overall prospect in the junior class. Nashville Donelson Christian four-star tight end Carson Sneed is also in the mix thus far.

King continues to head back to Rocky Top and is once again set to be around some of the other top prospects in his class that are also giving the Vols a hard look. A win over Alabama this weekend could do wonders for recruiting in-state standouts like King.

Alabama has also made an early impact on the 6-foot, 170-pounder. King took in the Tide's unbelievable victory over Georgia in Tuscaloosa last month and raved about his time when speaking with Wiltfong.

"The environment was extremely crazy," King said after the visit . "One of the best I've ever seen. It excites me by knowing they develop some of the best receivers in the world still and that plays a big part."
