Omaha City Council to hold Tuesday meeting The Omaha City Council is set to meet Tuesday and vote on overriding a recent veto by Mayor Stothert on a city codes ordinance. Stothert has also proposed giving a total of $100,000 to Police Athletics for Community Engagement (PACE) , rather than only $50,000. This comes after a prior debate over the cost. The City Council approved of the $50,000 back in April, as PACE was reportedly struggling to recover from its connection to a corruption scandal where funds were being misused. Also on the agenda is a public hearing over paying a company $148,000 to assess flood damage from the May 21 storms. On Election Day, Nebraskans overwhelmingly voted in favor of legalizing medical marijuana. "Seven of every 10 voters said "yes."
