4 wounded, gunman dead in Ohio Walmart shooting
Police in Beavercreek, Ohio, said four people were shot and the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during an incident at a Walmart on Monday.
Police said a man walked into the Walmart around 8:35 p.m. and began firing. The victims were taken to area hospitals. Police did not immediately release their condition.
Beavercreek Police said that no officers fired their weapons during the incident.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families impacted by this horrific tragedy. We will release more information as it becomes available," Beavercreek Police wrote in a post on X.
A message sent to the nearby Wright State University cautioned recipients to stay away from the area.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation; and the Federal Bureau of Investigations were all on site.
Beavercreek is a city of about 50,000 people 7 miles east of Dayton, Ohio.
In August of 2014, the same store was the site of the police killing of John Crawford III , who was holding a BB gun he had picked up in the store when he was shot. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital in Dayton.
