A cold front arrives Thursday, ushering in cooler weather and a dash of rainfall

COLUMBUS, GA. (WRBL)-The forecast will become cooler and more like fall finally, since our last cool front back in mid-October. This will not be as cold but it will be noticeably cooler and chilly for the extended forecast from a front that moves through Thursday.

After the front sweeps through, expect much cooler readings with plenty of sun and no rain in the extended forecast until next Tuesday. The rain next Tuesday will likely be a combination of a cool front and tropical moisture from what is likely Sara.

Enjoy mid 40 readings in the morning and lower 70s for daytime high temperatures.

An area of disturbed weather in the Caribbean Sea has a 40 percent chance of developing into a tropical system sometime in the next seven days, according to the National Hurricane Center. If the storm develops, it would be named "Sara", and most likely drift over Central America before dying off next week. However, at least one computer model has the storm strengthening and moving northward, eventually arriving in Florida in a week's time. At this point, it is too far out to say with any real certainty, but it's a feature in the atmosphere worth keeping an eye on.
