AAA expects 55 million travelers to head at least 50 miles from home over Thanksgiving holiday
The roadways are expected to be pretty packed this week leading up to Thanksgiving.
AAA expects 55 million travelers to head at least 50 miles from home over the holiday.
That includes 49.1 million Americans driving. Another 4.7 million will fly to their destinations.
More than a million and a half people will head out of town on buses, trains, and cruise ships.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg expects a Thanksgiving-record number of air travelers this year.
"We think the airline travel peak will be on Wednesday. And of course, a lot of people on America's roads as well. As always, our biggest focus is safety. We're asking drivers to allow extra time and be extra cautious," Buttigieg said.
AAA reports the price of a gallon of gasoline is 53 cents cheaper in New Jersey than the same day last year.
It's 44 cents cheaper in Pennsylvania year-over-year.
