Aberdeen man charged with multiple counts of forgery, fraud

Nov. 19—An Aberdeen man who also has used a Raeford address faces multiple charges in Lee and Moore counties.

Rodney Blake McCrimmon, 52, was charged with forgery of instrument and attempted uttering after he allegedly attempted to pass a forged check for $1,374 at Piggly Wiggly in Sanford on Sept. 15, 2023.

In that case, McCrimmon allegedly added his name to a check from Coltrane LIFE Center of Concord. According to its Facebook page, Coltrane LIFE Center is a service for impaired individuals who need specialized daytime care.

McCrimmon, who was arrested Feb. 16 and made a written promise to appear in court, was then charged with multiple charges in Moore County in July.

He faces charges for obtaining property by false pretense, attempt to obtain property by false pretense, ID theft, financial card fraud and financial card theft.

Details of those charges were not available in eCourts. McCrimmon was charged by police in Southern Pines and Aberdeen.

He was arrested and given a $5,000 bond on July 24 and posted bond two days later and given a court date of Feb. 10, 2025.

After those charges were filed in Moore County, a motion was made in Lee County on Oct. 11 to revoke his bond.

McCrimmon was scheduled to be arraigned in Lee County on Monday, Nov. 18.
