NASSAU, Bahamas — Justin Moore scored five of his 16 points in overtime and Eric Dixon had a career-high 34 points and 10 rebounds as Villanova beat No. 14 North Carolina 83-81 on Thursday in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Villanova (5-1) will play in the championship game on Friday against the winner of the No. 20 Arkansas-Memphis game. North Carolina (4-1) will play for third place.

North Carolina guard Cormac Ryan hit a 3-pointer in the corner, off a nice drive and pass by Elliot Cadeau, and tied the game at 68 with 34.4 seconds left in regulation. Moore dribbled down the clock before finding Dixon for a 3-pointer try that rattled out. North Carolina took it to midcourt before calling a timeout with 3.3 seconds left. RJ Davis inbounded and got the ball back before his off balance 3-point attempt hit off the back of the rim.

Moore put Villanova ahead for good in overtime on a three-point play with 2:08 left. Mark Armstrong added 10 points for Villanova.

Davis led North Carolina with 23 points. Harrison Ingram added 20 points before fouling out at the offensive end with 3:44 left in regulation. Ryan finished with 18 points, and Armando Bacot had eight points and 18 rebounds.

NC State 84, Vanderbilt 78: LAS VEGAS — Freshman Dennis Parker Jr. and Jayden Taylor finished with 18 points apiece and NC State defeated Vanderbilt 84-78 at the Vegas Showdown on Thursday night.

Parker came off the bench to sink 7 of 10 shots with two 3-pointers, adding nine rebounds to help the Wolfpack (4-0) advance to Friday’s championship game against the winner of the nightcap between BYU and Arizona State. Parker added two assists and blocked two shots. Taylor made 6 of 12 shots with a 3-pointer.

DJ Burns Jr. pitched in with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals for NC State. Casey Morsell had 12 points and five boards.

Tyrin Lawrence had 21 points, seven rebounds and four steals for the Commodores (3-2), who will play the loser of the nightcap before tomorrow’s title game. Ven-Allen Lubin added 16 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Jason Rivera-Torres came off the bench to hit three 3-pointers and score 12.

Burns and Parker had nine points, Morsell scored eight and NC State took a 43-33 lead into halftime. Both teams shot 41.4% in the first half and both made just 2 of 11 from 3-point range. DJ Horne’s layup gave NC State an 18-17 lead midway through the half, Burns followed with a layup and the Wolfpack never trailed again.

No. 9 Duke 95, La Salle 66: DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Tyrese Proctor has joined the scoring parade as No. 9 Duke keeps unveiling sources of high-powered offense.

The sophomore guard scored a career-high 22 and the Blue Devils had several big second-half runs to bury La Salle in a 95-66 win Tuesday night.

“My shots started falling early,” Proctor said. “I realized I could get downhill more. I just tried to use that to my advantage.”

Kyle Filipowski added 17 points, reserve Sean Stewart scored 16 to go with 10 rebounds, and Mark Mitchell had 12 for Duke (4-1), which won for the third time in eight nights.

“I thought we played a well-rounded game,” Duke coach Jon Scheyer said. “It’s probably the closest we’ve had to a 40-minute game so far.”

Anwar Gill scored 17 points and Jhamir Brickus posted 13 points for La Salle (4-1), which had been off to a 4-0 start for the first time in nine years. The Explorers shot 41.4% from the field in their first road game of the season.

La Salle’s Fran Dunphy, in his 32nd season as a Division I head coach, was bidding for his 600th career victory. He’s 599-345.
