‘Adopt-A-Family’ For The Holidays In Nutley: How To Help

A.Davis37 min ago

As Christmas approaches, the Department of Public Affairs and Health, along with the Nutley Board of Education, encourages you to keep local families in your holiday plans by contributing to Nutley's Annual Treasure Chest Adopt-a-Family Program. This initiative aims to support families in the Township by providing Christmas gifts for their children and holiday food assistance. Each year, Nutley helps between 250 and 300 children, ages three to 18, who are currently enrolled in Township schools.

It's important for us to take a moment to appreciate the joys and blessings in our lives while remembering that not everyone is as fortunate. While shopping for holiday gifts this season, please consider purchasing $25 gift cards to large local stores to donate to these local families. We recommend gift cards for stores like Target, ShopRite, Kohl's, and Amazon. These donations will enable Nutley families to enjoy the Christmas holiday, ensuring that every Nutley child can believe in the magic of SANTA CLAUS!

"Please help us make a difference in the lives of our Nutley families in need," Mayor John V. Kelly, III says. "The gift cards are used for food, clothing, and fundamental supplies specifically for families in Nutley. This program makes a significant impact on the lives of these families, thanks to your generosity. We rely entirely on charitable donations to continue this holiday miracle."

Donating is simple: purchase $25 gift cards and drop them off in a sealed envelope at the Department of Public Affairs and Health, located at 149 Chestnut Street, Nutley, NJ 07110. Please include your name, address, phone number, and email on the outside of the envelope, addressed to Sharon Bozza. Donations can be dropped off at the Nutley Department of Public Affairs and Health from Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., until Friday, December 13, 2024. This timeline is crucial to allow families adequate time to shop for their children.

We are incredibly thankful for everyone who chooses to make a difference in the life of another family. Wishing you a wonderful Holiday Season!
