Affidavit: Man brutally assaulted woman after she refused to have threesome with him at Waco’s Sandman Motel

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A man brutally assaulted a woman who suffered a "huge gash across her forehead" that appeared to "expose part of her skull" because the woman and a maid at the Sandman Motel refused to have a threesome with him, arrest warrants obtained by KWTX state.

Carl Lee Brown, 60, is charged with aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury and assault/strangulation with a previous conviction, according to court documents and online jail records.

Detectives with the Waco Police Department Family Violence Unit on Oct. 17 responded to a 911 call at the motel located at 3820 Franklin.

Police at the scene located a woman on the ground screaming in pain as a result of the huge gash on her forehead. The woman was immediately taken to a hospital and spoke with detectives after she was stabilized.

She told police that Brown struck her on the forehead after she and the motel maid refused to have a threesome with him, the arrest warrants state.

Detectives wrote in the affidavit that Brown and the victim had been together for ten years and Brown has "been arrested several times for assaulting her."

The woman mentioned Brown "strangled her but she was not able to give much more information due to the severity of her injuries," detectives further wrote in the arrest warrants.

She alleged Brown "suffocated her and was trying to kill her," the documents state. The warrants also state detectives have not been able to determine what Brown used to strike the victim in the forehead.

Brown was previously arrested for assaulting the woman in 2021 and 2018, the warrants state. Charges in the 2018 case were dropped after he pleaded guilty to drug charges, the documents state.

Brown, the arrest warrants state, "is very violent when he assaults and strangles [the victim], as her injuries are always quite severe."

Brown was arrested on Nov. 7 and remains at the McLennan County Jail. His bond amounts have not yet been set.
