Affordable housing units in NYC for New Yorkers earning $40,000 or less
NEW YORK (PIX11)—Multiple affordable housing units are available in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx for New Yorkers making less than $40,000 annually.
These buildings are listed on Housing Connect , the city website for New York City's affordable housing lottery.

"Through Housing Connect, you can find and apply for affordable rental and homeownership opportunities. To qualify, your household must meet the income and size requirements for a unit in the affordable development," read the Housing Connect website . "Your household is all of the people who will live in the affordable unit."
Six buildings cater to New York households who make $40,000 or less annually.
They are:
Union Channel Apartments – Brooklyn
Eligible Income: $31,989 – $167,700
Possible Max rent – $874
Amenities include an elevator, a rooftop terrace, a business center, and a pool.
655 Union Street Apartments – Brooklyn
Eligible Income: $33,772 – $218,010
Possible Max rent – $888
Amenities include an elevator, a recycling center, a recreation room, and a gymnasium.
Bedford Green House II – Bronx
Eligible Income: $0 – $100,620
Rent – Tenant pays 30% of their Income for rent, and applicants will need to qualify for Section 8
Amenities include an outdoor terrace, a common area, a laundry room, and air conditioning.
Riverton Square Waiting List – Manhattan
Eligible Income: $32,119 – $134,160
Possible max rent -$954.23
Amenities include an elevator, a senior center, a playground, and a senior center.
160 Madison Avenue Waiting List – Manhattan
Eligible Income: $23,297 – $83,850
Possible max rent – $1,010.86
Amenities include a lounge, floor-to-ceiling windows, a 24-hour lobby attendant, and New York City skyline views.
Beach Green Dunes III – Queens
Eligible Income: $21,566 – $154,080
Possible max rent – $981
Amenities include bike storage lockers, a shared laundry room, an elevator, and a common area with wifi.
