LOWER MERION — During a recent lunch meeting, Colonel Jessica "Jaguar" Guarini spoke to members of the Ardmore Rotary Club.

A native of Lancaster, Guarini's journey in the military began as a teenager as a member of the Civil Air Patrol. With over 21 years of service, she currently serves as the Chief of Staff of Headquarters Air Force Plans and Projects. She brings a wealth of experience from her global postings, including Okinawa, Japan, Germany, and Turkey. Her career also includes serving as Aide-de-camp to the 11th and 12th Vice Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where she played a crucial role in coordinating engagements and logistical support at the Pentagon.

During her presentation, Colonel Guarini shared valuable lessons on resilience and positivity, emphasizing the importance of what she called "being a lobster," or having the ability to adapt in uncomfortable situations and "finding your pony," which encourages a positive outlook in the face of challenges.

"Her insights resonated deeply with our members, reminding us all to embrace change and maintain a hopeful perspective. We thank Colonel Guarini for her service and for sharing her remarkable journey with us," according to a press release about her visit to the Rotary Club.

Colonel Guarini's extensive background encompasses command positions and operational leadership across several major Air Force commands. She has led the 22d Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron and the 621st Contingency Response Squadron, demonstrating her expertise in managing diverse teams during critical missions, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief efforts.

"With over 3,200 flight hours and deployments supporting multiple operations, her dedication and leadership have significantly impacted military operations worldwide," according to Rotary Club officials.
